About Share111
Share111 is an on-line sharing system that allows you to share files, articles, links and events with others. The basic concept is this: You set up groups. You add users who are members of your groups and give them permissions regarding those groups. Then you add files and identify which groups the files are associated with. At that point, only those people who have access to the group where the upload exists can access that upload.

For example, you might create the groups SPYS, GOOD GUYS and BAD GUYS. The user M has access to READ, EDIT and DELETE files in the GOOD GUYS group. The user BORIS can READ, EDIT and DELETE files in the BAD GUYS group. The user 007 has permission to READ, EDIT and DELETE files in the SPYS group, but also can READ and EDIT files in the GOOD GUYS group, and can READ the BAD GUYS' files. Pretty tricky, eh?
When you first log into Share111, you are presented with the tree. This is a roll up of all files, articles, links and events that you have permission to see. You can organize your files, articles, links and events into any folder within the tree. The tree has unlimited levels of folders and sub folders to help you make sense of your content. If someone does not have permission to see any files within a folder, the folder disappears and they can not see it. From the "Home" screen, you will see all files, articles, links and events, but when you click on one of those main buttons at the top, you will only see those items. You can drag a file to the trash can to delete it if you have permission to do so. File, Article, Link and Event Tree
The first step once you have logged in is to add your groups. Here you can see how you add groups to share111. You can add new groups any time, but it's a good idea to think about what you will need before adding all your users. You can also make groups inactive if you don't want to use them temporarily. The next step is to add your users. As you may notice, users can be designated as a user manager which gives them permission to manage other users, a group manager which gives them permission to manage groups or as a reports manager which allows them to view system reports. You can also prevent a user from being able to edit their own profile if necessary.

When you add a user, you will set permissions for that user with regard to each group. You have the ability to create READ, EDIT and DELETE permission with respect to files, events, links and articles. You also have the ability to allow a user to send mail to the various groups.
Adding Users to Share111
Once you have added all your groups and users and set your permissions, you can start uploading your content. Here you see how you add files. You select the folder in the tree where the file goes (or create a new folder if one doesn't already exist). You give the file a title and description and then assign the groups to which the file belongs. Once uploaded, only those users who have permission in the chosen groups will be able to deal with the file you uploaded according to the permissions they have with that group. Here's how to add articles. You select the folder in the tree where the article goes (or create a new folder if one doesn't already exist). You give the article a title, subtitle, keywords and a description. Then you write the story, uploading images or PDF's or other content you might need to support your story, take credit as the author, add your job title if appropriate and any notes you need to add. You then assign the groups to which the article belongs. Once uploaded, only those users who have permission in the chosen groups will be able to deal with the article you uploaded according to the permissions they have with that group. The share111 calendar is a simple site wide calendar. Currently, events are not group specific, but that functionality can be added upon request. When you add an event, you enter the Title, Description and Start Date and decide whether or not you need to display the event time. If not, you can enter the start time and event duration. You decide the duration of the event and mark whether you wish to be notified via email of the event. If so, the notification will be sent to the email address associated with your profile. share111 event calendar
Here's how to add links. You select the folder in the tree where the link goes (or create a new folder if one doesn't already exist). You give the link a title and enter the URL. You then assign the groups to which the link belongs. Once uploaded, only those users who have permission in the chosen groups will be able to deal with the link you added according to the permissions they have with that group.
